5-lug swap with TL/CL knuckles?

since when do you need to get hubs pressed out? ... you don't need a press/puller to take off the hubs at the j yard ... they come off with the bearing, if anything it's the bearing pressed out ... if that

why not just re-use the bearings?

p.s. x2 on the front caliper being different on v6 and i4

So...you can just pry them off, or unbolt them? Sorry if I sound like a noob, I just wanna be sure. Then when they're off, I can remove my 4 lug ones and just press the 5-lug ones (w/bearings, or get new ones from honda (would i need 4 or 5-lug bearings?)) onto my rotors?

But TL and CL's have bigger rotors than even the v6 accords. so whats with all this talk of reusing calipers? wouldn't you need to use acura calipers too to make the most of your new larger rotors? should be a nice upgrade btw. or if you really wanna go big....3rd gen TL type S brembo's would be SOOOOO sweet.

Idc really about the brakes at this point in time...the stock brakes are pretty adequate for me.

dang i cant remember exactly, but i'm sure you just remove the cap on the hub and remove the nut from the spindle/axle ... then bang it out with a hammer ... can anyone verify this to make sure

also v6 and i4 hub bearings are the same

they're are pressed in and pressed out. I've had to replace the bearings on my tl and the hubs needed to be pressed out to get to the bearings. A hammer won't do the trick as I needed a 20 ton press.

So...where does one find a press to do this, and how is it done? Would I be able to do it with a tool I can get access to, or is this a professional/mechanic's job?

I haven't changed any wheel bearings on the honda but on my mazda I had to change the bearing and I believe it was $40 mechanic charged me just to press the hub out and new bearing in...

The rears are the only ones that just bolt on/off. The fronts need pressed on/off along with the bearings. Reusing bearings is a dumb idea, they're cheap and you've already got it apart so you might as well just replace them.

wheel bearings plus labor isn't cheap ... front bearings are listed for $57 each at majestic honda ... i'm not sure about the rear because it list's it together with the hub at $84.60 ... even if they were $50 a piece, it's going to double the cost of your 5 lug swap ... and that does not include labor ... at least for me it would have because i got my whole swap for $220'ish

tasauto has them a lot cheaper and i'm sure your local parts store does as well. Pressing a hub off a knuckle and reusing the bearing and then pressing a new hub on is still a dumb idea. Pay the price and do it right the first time or find someone who can get you a discount (nasohc maybe) on it.
