I've actually wanted to do this also... I jus want 1 8inch sub to put in the rear deck .. could you build a box underneath the rear deck to fit the 8 and attach it to the rear deck from underneath and so the face of the sub is out into the cab maybe? with reinforcements of course. I dunno if that made ne since... I could draw a picture... lol

the problem is the trunk tension rods would be in the way... you'd have to take them out then either you trunk would be a pain to keep open or have to mod a dampener to it

It's not something I really care about. It was more of, I can get them for cheap, so what can I do with them. If anything...the middle portion of the backseat for the subie folds down but the seats don't. If I could somehow rig something up back there, that might sound good.

I thought about removing the rear quarter trim panels and putting speakers back there but that's just too much work for me. I'm not that big on audio in that car or in general. Putting them under the seats isn't an option either, no room.

what would be tonssssss easier is building a baffle that bottom-mounts the drivers through the 6x9 holes, then shift them around to clear the trunk rods.

after that...seal up the pass through, the back seats, and any holes in the rear deck to go infinite baffle.

its possible. i've done rough measurements that prove it could be done. but. it would be easier and more advantageous just to do 2 12s or 15s IB for more cone area in a "standard" IB install. 8s on the rear deck IS doable.

what are these subs, anyway? just make a sealed box for them to sit up against the back seats and let er rip.

if they're cheap, probably w0 or w1 model. those only have like a 4" mounting depth so you have a lot of options...

Sure:
reinforce the deck after cutting it to fit
take the windshield out if you want to mount it from the top
take tensioner bars out, replace with 5th gen Accord shocks
Seal any opening to the cabin to make the trunk an enclosure, this includes drop down seats, around the spring mount, between shell and outer frame
buy sub that is built for Inifinite Baffle use, ie. high QTC, high FS ok too
sub also needs to be able to be designed to be mounted upward firing without suspension sag setting in

Good thing is you won't need a lot of amplifier power to drive them.
