Acura CL - Full wet-sand and buff

that's really sick! I wish I lived where ever you do so I can get sum lessons err sumthin! would this be anything like wetsanding headlights? cause I am the guy everyone turns to at the dealership for headlight restoration.. but I dunno if I could pull this off.. hahaha

1. take strip of sand paper

2. dunk into water

3. proceed with wetsanding

4. repeat

Well its the same technique but when wetsanding clear coat you always have to how much you sand otherwise you will reach paint lol.

1. take strip of sand paper

2. dunk into water

3. proceed with wetsanding

4. repeat

Oh boy, here we come lol. Every time you dunk it into water, your taking particles and instead of sanding, your scratching your clear coat lol.

Take a strip of sand paper, put it in soapy water for at least 2 hours to soak it, take a clean spray bottle, fill it with water and add a bit of dishwashing soap and then while sanding, spray the area you are sanding. Make sure you have a sandblock and not using your hand to move sand paper.

for anyone who might be wondering, this is possible in a whole lot less time by using a D.A. i would not recommend anyone try it unless you have a few years of paint and finishing experience, but it can be done start to finish in about five hours. eight tops depending on the car. still i gotta give you some serious credit for spending all that time doin it by hand. props man.

I doubt you would remove all scratches with DA polisher... or you mean use DA sander to sand?

yeah what the heck was I saying, I was thinking of when I wetsanded my lip.

with the clearcoat taken into account you're right you have to do a lot more prep work before doing it.

I'm really tired, I need a soda or something..
