im in the same dilemma as henreeezy. the package deal is a wheel. but separately you have a rim and a tire.

I think separately you would have a wheel and tire. When you buy a tire, its just the rubber, when you buy a wheel, its the metal. I mean, look at three piece wheels. You can break it down, and one of those pieces is the rim. The rim isn't the whole wheel.

wheel = one rim + that of mounted tire

rim or rims or rimzz = rims + tire = rim alone

rims are a part of a wheel.....

so when ppl say that they're selling rims on craigslist, you might just be getting a cylindrical peice of metal. OR if they're half honest, u get the actual wheel but no spokes.
hella reminds of that one thread where this guy had his rims break after powder coating it and the center just simply broke HAHAH

if you want to compromise we can just call them "whims" lol

I say wheels. I may say rims every now and then if it's someone who isn't into cars, or if something happened (he bent his rim).

rim by definition means "outer edge, boarder, margin, especially of a circular object". so calling your after market wheels rims doesn't make sense, at least to me. they are wheels, end of story.
