Okay so I read mikeymike's threads about the relocation and killswitch. I have to relocate my battery to the trunk due to space constraints in the engine bay. I also plan to go to the track which means I need a killswitch and battery box in order to pass tech inspection.

My question: If I permanently mount the switch on the back of the car would I be risking getting my car stolen? I do have an alarm that has a back-up battery. But I don't know much about how the alarm works with the back-up battery. So if someone tried to steal my car, would being able to turn the killswitch off help them in any way?

Thanks in advance.

The power wire to the alarm could be relocated to before the killswitch so that the alarm not be affected.

Yep.

Although aren't alarm's backup batteries a whole seperate unit ? I don't think the backup battery is the car's battery.

Do two kill switches if your worried, one outside for track use and one inside for peace of mind. I would suggest fuel kill switch in the car. Batter kill switch on the outside.
