Happened to be before and I was about 24" from ground to fender. Was driving fine, turned the corner to go onto campus parking lot and the pig pulled me over.

Had me pop my hood and etc. Bone stock lol.

Wrote me a ticket, received the bill for $250 something. Went to my local PD after raising the car back up, had to pay $25 for a fix it.

Slammed it back down after I paid the ticket. Never seen the cop ever since.

Research your states vehicle code, they listed the #s they cited you under, so it should be easy enough to find.

You received a bill for $250? That sucks man. Was it because he marked it as a Non-Correctable Citation for whatever reason?

Anyway to the OP. suspension modifications are illegal right?

And I would also just raise it and then pay the fix it. Kinda sounds like you let the cops walk all over you. There was no just reason for you to even be taken out of the car let alone searched.

True, but still lame nonetheless to receive such a citation. They actually didn't search my interior. They just sort of did a quick walk around and "inspected" my suspension. Honestly, I didn't want to resist considering how this particular city's cops are notorious asshats.

Anyway, I'm going to raise my car up and get it checked off in about a month. No big deal.

Recently got pulled over for being too low last week. The officer had his walk around the car to scope it out and came back to me and said "do you even grind?" no joke. I said yeah, only on big dips. He asked if i knew the legal height and i said no. For you guys who don't know, the lowest point of the rim can't be lower then your body/lip if you have one. I barely made it, guess i wasn't low enough lol. He later told me to pop my hood and asked if i had any modification done to the engine and i said no, just an intake with a legal carb sticker.

At the end of it all, he was a really cool guy. He Didn't give me a ticket but gave me some pointers and told me that they are now enforcing the "laws" more strictly on slammed, Herruoflush cars in the OC, La, socal area.

How strange. I got a parking ticket a few days back because it took me and my friend (bagged GTI) to long to get in my parking lot.

And I'm on Tein's........
I was just being careful.

It's getting appealed and taken away. Security guard here is a *****

I'd find the statute he claims you broke, and read the exact wording
"For you guys who don't know, the lowest point of the rim can't be lower then your body/lip if you have one"
Doesn't seem quite right as this would be dependent on tire wall height and body kit/lip rather than overall ride height/suspension

the police not measuring your ride height def works in your favor
that's pretty ridiculous that they essentially detained you just because

so many power trippin cops out here in SoCal

All my cars are stock height and I still drive 5mph over every bump/dip :lawl: guess that's just a California thing. I'd say fight it. Even if you lose, you'll just be back in the same place, right? Can't hurt to try

I just got one of these tickets not too long ago. According to California Vehicle Code, the center of your headlights has to be between 22" and 54".

My car is like right on the border, so I might be able to just roll in and have them sign it off lol. It's a pain in the butt to deal with this petty stuff though.
