Are the bump stops still on the shocks or have they perished over time causing the shock to bottom out?
(not sure if you guys have the same name for these things State Side - no.11 in this pic)
Are your cars lowered by any chance??

For some reason I can't view that website or see that pic..... so does your suspension have the no.10 covering the top of the shock??
If so you wont be able to see the bump stop. I have seen the upper arms hit on the chassis before..... but that was due to incorrect parts being fitted.

well I guess this is late, but my clanking noise started as sway bar links around 120k
than lower ball joints 140k
now it's a upper ball joints 160k

hey, ive been having this issue too, and today i took it to a shop and they put it on the lift and since i dont trust mechanics i was right next to him and took the opportunity to check for rattles. Everything was firm except for the actually sway bar which had some play at the bushings which what i think was causing the noise

my bushings look good and i can't feel any play in the bar...that's what SHOULD be making the sound...

hell, the bushing kit is $11 so i might as well do it. the rears were definitely toasted last year so the fronts can't be that good, either.

Will you go with the OEM bushings or pick up a set of some polyurethane bushings?
