hey, ive been having this issue too, and today i took it to a shop and they put it on the lift and since i dont trust mechanics i was right next to him and took the opportunity to check for rattles. Everything was firm except for the actually sway bar which had some play at the bushings which what i think was causing the noise

my bushings look good and i can't feel any play in the bar...that's what SHOULD be making the sound...

hell, the bushing kit is $11 so i might as well do it. the rears were definitely toasted last year so the fronts can't be that good, either.

+1, I have the same sound, and my mechanic friend Erik over from Azine showed me the play in the rear sway bar, leading us to believe that the bushings are going. 104k, not sure of past history with the bushings. Gonna do a major maintenance overhaul on the car as soon as I get a job + the money.

wait so the clunking was the sway bar bushings?? wow

I have a slight clunking sometimes, so I'll probably be replacing my sway bar bushings, end links and my passenger side balljoint and CV shaft too.. All in the summer... haha

no, the replacement of them failed...wasn't it.

since the lower drivers side ball joint has grease all over it ( 4 years old  ) AND it seems like the sound is coming from the driver's side, thats probably next up.

Wow, that sucks! I was talking about my rear so the front may be set up a bit different.

It may be a good idea to test out your parts, by relieving them of all tension and free em up, move them around and they have substantial play/noise it may be time to replace em.

my rear sway bar wasn't making noise, but there was substantial play in the endlinks. the bushings had significant wear as well.

short of simply taking everything apart then putting it back together...or replacing every piece that looks worn...i dont know what to do next...

Sucks, what have parts have ya replaced?
So we can cut down the possible culprits, I would say take it to a shop but you could probably get a new front suspension for the price they would charge for installing some bushings :talk-punch:
