I think BorgWarner makes the turbos that Garrett manufactures, and if I'm correct Honeywell owns all of them altogether. I know they are all somehow connected, and all are the best products.

Nope. Two completely separate companies. Garrett is owned by Honeywell but BorgWarner is a bigger company than you might think.

Hope you're patient :lawl: gonna be a while.

Through further research I discovered a shocking fact. The Garrett GT35 twin scroll, is not a real twin scroll! It's simple divided at the beginning of the housing. Where a true twin scroll has separate volutes all the way to the turbine. The only one I could find that was true was the BorgWarner 7670, which comes in at a boggling $1700!

If I were to choose a turbo right now, it'd be the 7670. However, if in the next year or so, once I'm ready to buy, Garrett comes out with a true twin scroll in that size range, I'll pick it. Because in my mind it is still Garrett>BorgWarner. Even though they're really both the best companies anyways, I like Garrett more for some reason...

This being said I have changed my original post to not include turbo details, because at this point it is up in the air.. Won't even decide manifold, wastegates or bov. Because if I went BorgWarner EFR it has the wastegate and bov built in. Which would save me money rather than having to buy a bov and 2 wastegates. Which could maybe justify the enormous price..

A lot of time what you will see are custom housings for Garrett turbos. ATP for example makes a wide range of turbine housings for Garrett turbos that are built to their spec and not Garrett's. I would check to make sure that the turbo you were looking at was a full Garrett unit, and not half and half. If a turbo from Garrett says twinscroll then it is twinscroll. Companies like that don't throw gimmicks on their products to sell them.

But BW turbos are also very good units and reliable. I think a lot of german OEMs use them if i am not mistaken. Whether you go BW or Garrett you will not be disappointed.

That's the way I was looking at. Quality wise they're about the same.

Only one that comes out on top, in my mind right now, is BW. I know they have true twinscroll housings and have a bov and wastegate built it. So saving money on a bov and two wastegates right from the start.

That is the Garrett I was planning on.

However, I haven't found any evidence backing up the claim. With BW I have

Due to overwhelming bills recently, and now being in debt with my parents, I have decided to abandon this build. If anyone is interested, I am interested in selling.

It sucks but I need to take care of these other priorities.

I'm sorry to hear, I was very interested in seeing the numbers. I wanted to build a boost g23 also but the longevity of it and the money that goes into it is a lot. Hope you do get out of debt and handle your business at home. Life does come first.
