the front axles on my 6gen are bad too. it is pretty dangerous to roll around like that now that i think about it
thanks! hmm..how much did the axle run you?
Alright.. just got back from a decently reputable shop around my area (Mazz Autosport).
Here are the things they told me to replace/fix.
Both axles are bad.
Linkage for front sway bar?
Alternator Belt/Fan Belt or something has cracks (can you really check it visually? cause they just showed me and I do see some little cracks but I'm just not sure)
Parts & labor.. they said will come out to be about $450. Does that sound correct?
Any input guys? I don't want to fix anything that really is not necessary to fix.
I'mma talk to my dad about it tonight and maybe bring it to another shop and see what they say too.
the axles you need to have somebody do it, unless any one of you guys have that tool
The 181 lb-ft of wheel bearing preload on the spindle nut is VERY important for bearing life and noise, a lot of people don't pay attention to that detail.fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck my car is doing the same stuff. i just got my timing belt done and when i got the car back its been making some stupid *** sounds man..sounds like clunking stuff i thought my belt was loose or it skipped a tooth or whatever timing belt crap there is and i brought it back to the shop and we test drove it with me in the passenger seat so i can hear it better but it really doesnt sound like its coming from the timing belt and they cant figure it out either. but when they took a sledge hammer tapped my tires i heard like a clunk sound but they said it was the rotors or something.
also, how come after they replaced my timing belts/water pump/ps belt and whatever else it came with my acceleration seems rougher? like it seems....slower?
help please...all this maintenance n **** is costing too much
