Nah, it doesn't shake. Does it still mean it's the axle? Dang, I wanna go to a shop but it's raining haha

which when you turn you hear it?

and if you want to rebuild it, check how much it is for the parts to rebuild it or how much it is for a new one. if its a little off, just get a new remanufacture and it will most likely have lifetime warranty on it.

if rebuilding it is cheaper, i can help you rebuild it. i just need some tools.

for the clunking noise in the back, check your motor mounts and your tranny mounts, see if they're good or not. check for cracks or pieces falling off. also probably check the bushing in the back and maybe the ball joints near the spindle.

Who the hell still rebuilds CV joints? That **** stopped a WHILE ago.

Anywho... skip on the rebuil and skip on the reman axle. Napa carries brand NEW axles, one of those would do the trick.

I would diagnose more. Do a few figures 8's in a parking lot, listen for clicking (out Rzeppa joint) or clunks on braking/acceleration (inner tripod joint).

Buy nice or buy twice... you can rebuild a joint with new balls bearings and inner race, but that outer race (the cup) is going to be worn out still.

I assume you are paying for labor too? Makes sense to pay $400 instead of $200 too... how's that for spending double to save $30?

Thanks.. I will go out right now and do that and probably bring it to a shop and see what's really wrong.

Alright.. just got back from a decently reputable shop around my area (Mazz Autosport).

Here are the things they told me to replace/fix.

Both axles are bad.
Linkage for front sway bar?
Alternator Belt/Fan Belt or something has cracks (can you really check it visually? cause they just showed me and I do see some little cracks but I'm just not sure)

Parts & labor.. they said will come out to be about $450. Does that sound correct?
Any input guys? I don't want to fix anything that really is not necessary to fix.

I'mma talk to my dad about it tonight and maybe bring it to another shop and see what they say too.

i don't like Mazz i feel like they're a ripp off, i mean they do ok work but from what i see your problems can be fixed anywhere, and i realized i made a mistake,

some shops actually give you new ones when you let them take your bad ones and you have to pay like 60 for each axle,

the axles you need to have somebody do it, unless any one of you guys have that tool,

as far as the belt and the linkage i think we can do it ourselves

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck my car is doing the same stuff. i just got my timing belt done and when i got the car back its been making some stupid *** sounds man..sounds like clunking stuff i thought my belt was loose or it skipped a tooth or whatever timing belt crap there is and i brought it back to the shop and we test drove it with me in the passenger seat so i can hear it better but it really doesnt sound like its coming from the timing belt and they cant figure it out either. but when they took a sledge hammer tapped my tires i heard like a clunk sound but they said it was the rotors or something.

also, how come after they replaced my timing belts/water pump/ps belt and whatever else it came with my acceleration seems rougher? like it seems....slower?

help please...all this maintenance n **** is costing too much

don't panic man haha, our cars are getting old, when you think about it its 10 years, thats when little things like you guys are saying are happening

just figure out the exact problem first, and then figure out a way to fix it, and if u say that acceleration is not smooth, it could be your axle, when my driver side axle was bad, my car would shake when i accelerate,
