I just wanted to double check before I order my clutch and flywheel. A prelude flywheel will bolt up to a F23 crank and clear a P2A8 transmission right? This is the one I am looking at clutch THX

Yeah, all the prelude stuff works. Ive been running an f23 clutch and flywheel setup on my h22 tranny and motor since 06. That flywheel is too light though, you're going to hate it in traffic. And it looks like the clutch kit is an OEM replacement, not sure if you were aware of that or not.

Thanks for the fast replies guys. Yeah I'm not running anything special yet OEM replacement will do. I live in BFE so Im not too worried about The lightweight flywheel. Out of curiosity why would city traffic with a 8lbs. flywheel suck more?

Because there is less reciprocating mass to help the engine continue rotating in between combustion events. Its the flip side of the coin to its advantages actually. Because of its reduced reciprocating mass, you will see a bit a of a snappier throttle response. If you don't really drive in traffic much, it probably won't be an issue. But if you live in the city, it has great potential for sucking.

I have the ACT 12.5lb, and its ok. But with the big cams it gets a bit annoying in traffic.

r u guys saying with a light weight flywheel your more likely to stall
because of the less rotatinal mass its easier to stop the engine right

Mine took some getting used to initially, I have the fidanza and i drive in Boston rush hour traffic and i have no problems. Most people who drive my car for the first time stall, I think Nick (aka Drift) was literally the only one who didn't stall it.

Ive had my 8 lb. flywheel for the last 50k and love it. i do about 75% city driving, I don't mind it but it can be a bit touchy if you're not very good at feathering the clutch and throttle.
