For my coworkers birthday I detailed her X5 for her today, below are the details on the process. I use a Porter Cable 7424xp and Lake County pads.

  1. Washed car at self service car wash
  2. Clayed the whole car with Megs Clay Bar
  3. Compounded with Yellow Lake County pad and Megs Ultimate Compound
  4. 2x Zaino Z-5 with Z-FX Flash Cure and White Lake County Pad
  5. 2x Zaino Z-2 with Z-FX Flash Cure and Black Lake County Pad
  6. Finished with Zaino Z-8 Spray Sealer
  7. Tires dressed with Armor All tire gel and foam applicator.

Not bad Justin...wish you would have showed off the camera (and your work) and taken up close swirl mark pics.

How long did the detail take you (minus the car wash beforehand)? Think we can do the same magic to my car?

Yeah Lemmie....I haven't even had a chance to properly detail my car yet this year, and the X5 KILLED my claybar right out of the box, so I'm going to have to buy a new one before I can do mine.
