Hey guys, been away from the forums for a while.
For any interested: I use this brake setup (with rear disc conversion) at the track weekly (lapping). I use Superblue Racing brake fluid, its DOT 4, but is just AMAZING. No break fade what-so-ever, even with back to back 20 minute lapping sessions.
Reason I did this and not all fancy slotted, crossdrilled, BBK, etc, was primarily the fact that These cars don't need much more. Even for the more aggressive brakers! I doubt any of you guys race the car in competition. For street/track, this setup is amazing. Cost is also a nice plus.
You can go slotted if you want to eat your pads unnecessarily. Crossdrilled is useless unless you want to change your disc more often from warpage and/or cracking. Ferraris, BBKs, etc, are all crossdrilled for the sole purpose of weight savings. Your brakes are after all rotating mass. (PS - F1 uses solid discs!)
