On my old car I did what some people did in that diy thread (a few pages into it) and took the resonator out, but also cut out the bottom of the air box, making the inlet bigger.
On my new 6ga though, I just took the resonator out and left it at that. My dremel broke and I didn't feel like fcking with it.
