I will be using the f23 auto transmission now, because the insurance didnt give me enough to swap to stick..lol. But anyway, I have a jdm p13 auto ecu along with the jdm p19 TCU (transmission control), via an auto obd2b-obd1 conversion harness. The tcu will allow me to pull to 8k, and the p13 is the aggressive ecu out of all the different h22 ecu's floating around.
Note: this is not an automatic h22 engine in which the cams are less aggressive and the comp. is slightly lower. This motor is out of a manual jdm bb4 prelude.

youre gonna match an h22 with an F23 AUTO!??? wont the f23's longass gears inhibit the performance of the h22?

Remeber, all these auto trannys are the SAME. F22/h23/f23/h22 auto are the same, the difference is the shift points via TCU (transmission control unit). Thats why the p19 tcu is used for the h22 motor, it allows you to pull to 8k and stay in vtec during each shift. Its not like the manuals in which the gears are different. I repeat if you look at the auto tranny codes on the f22/h23/h22 they will be the same, unless you have the jdm auto LSD tranny.

Not saying auto is the way to go, but Ive seen auto h22 ludes pull 15.3-15.5 1/4's, with only boltons. S**t, one guy pulled 15 flat. Which all is faster than 95% of manual f23 accords. JDM h22's run stronger than UDSM motors. Seeing that most auto ludes are ragged out, without proper maintenence, I dont doubt the one you drove in feels slow as bawls. And, yes, tiptronic does suck ***, its the worst thing Honda couldve done. I do plan to swap to stick in Dec, but right now I cant, and I bet that even with the auto tranny this car will still take out a lot of people...lol
