here my ? i got a f23a4(i know WTF Ulev) i want to turbo my car i would rather buy a whole kit that will bolt on and not require a tune for now. i know its best to tune it with boost. where can i get one and when the time comes that tuning would be best other than converting to obd1

The word "tune" is used too loosely now days. Tuning a car means programming the ECU in the car to support the modifications to the engine. This can be done either by buying an after market ECU such as AEM, Motec, MegaSquirt etc. Or converting to ODB1 and chipping an ecu that you can reflash.

When you turbo a naturally aspirated motor you surpass the capabilities of the ECU. Honda programmed the ECU(pretty much perfectly) to function below 0 psi (from the MAP sensor). Once you hit positive manifold absolute pressure the ECU has no idea what to do. It does not know how much fuel to add or how much ignition timing to apply for engine load/engine speed.

Boosting an NA motor is not as easy as slapping on a turbo. IMO "tuning" the ECU is the hardest and only way to get your car running properly.

Any opinions on Roller Rockers? There isn't much discussion on here about them. I hear on the larger cams they eliminate VTEC, but that wouldn't really be a problem on an H23, and I need new rockers anyway. Pointless on stock cams or better off in the long run if I do upgrade?

Back to this G23...

Would upgrading the valves, springs and retainers be a necessity upfront? I already plan on getting the head ported/ polished before anything, so would it be best to just wait til the valvetrain is where the bottleneck is or just get the upgrades out of the way?

I'm building the engine out of the car so I'll take all the time necessary. Just curious where to invest first.

No they're not a necessity unless you really need them.
