Well, you CAN do it with no turbo, its not forced induction that causes excess fuel in your exhaust to burn. I was just saying bigger turbo, because its just that much better, lol.

Werd. It's been said that my car does it and it's not boosted. Just running rich with a gutted cat.

Eh, I don't really know how to help you.. Um, your going to have to do quite a bit of modding to your motor to make it shoot fire, and it to be supposed to, because of extra fuel when you let off the throttle.

And you don't want the whole spark plug flame thrower kit either.. So, I think you might be in a pickle.

How about you go trade your car in for a neon SRT-4, haha. Run a big downpipe, and a big turbo back exhaust. You will pop for days, and your whole neighborhood will know when your coming home. :leeann:

Lol, still a neon in my eyes. I'm sure I can get a slight flame somehow without much modding. I just want it to be a little addition and not the main attraction.

As soon as I read neon SRT-4 I stopped reading your post lol.

So if I got a catless DP and running a little rich I might get that pop of fire?

I might just do that.

I wouldn't recommend it though because gas is a btch lol. Besides it doesn't do it on demand, it does it sometimes when I downshift at high rpm (8200rpm redline). I also have a different motor setup. DOHC w/ High compression and untuned Apexi NEO VAFC. You don't want to spend money and not get the results your looking for.

It really depends, but keep in mind, you might also make your car run like crap. I am not too sure on those motors. An untuned motor running rich is not a good thing. Although fire out of the exhaust looks cool, lean is mean, remember that. People who do things like remove 02 sensors generally run a 02 simulator, or defoulers in some cases, so they do NOT get the check engine light. Another thing to remember is when you pop a CEL, which you will, you will never know if your car is trying to tell you something is wrong.

My buddy had a CEL for his car, he thought it was for is 02 sensor, because his car was newer (07) and it hadn't been acting up. VW ran it for him to make sure when he was getting a DSG service, and they found a major engine failure that was happening. He would have never known.
