Why is everyone subscribing?

I know my engine is worn... I beat the piss out of it and it has 225k on it. That's why I'm rebuilding an F23 and swapping them this summer.

Yeah sometimes the most cost effective method is just knowing when and how much oil to keep putting in the motor. Heck, i did it for a long time too.

I don't really burn any oil. When i do oil changes ill usually pour back the used oil into the oil bottles i just poured in, and ill be missing just a bit. but then again my engine has only 98K on it so far =) , the only thing concerning me is the tiny metal specks ill see sometimes...

Now this is coming from owning my galant, but metal specks in the oil is normally a rod bearing getting chewed up. Saw the same thing in my oil after my bottom end seized

I'm around the same. However, my valve cover seems to be leaking oil so I'll change the gasket and redo the seal at my next oil change. Hopefully that should fix the problem. I'm assuming my car should be burning maybe about 0.5-0.8qts with a fixed seal. Usually, when I do an oil change I let the car hang for a good 30 minutes to drain out as much oil as possible. I would do it longer but I don't have the time to just let the car hang.
