So I had my Type 1s installed on my car roughly 3 months. Very bouncy and uncomfortable ride. I've only adjusted the height through turning the coilover body on the bottom. Is preload the problem? How can I find out if the preload is wrong?

IMO, the rear is pretty bouncy but after 1.5 years of DD-ing Type 1's, I find it pretty comfortable but it did take some time to get accustomed to it.

Ride quality is quite a difference jumping from Tein SS to F2 Type 1's (my experience) though.

What you're feeling isnt "bouncy". You're car is now responding to bumps and grades in the road because you arent on stock suspension. It's stiffer, less forgiving. But shouldnt feel harsh. It's not a caddy man.

I also had FF types 1s on my civic before. They were way more comfortable than the ones on my accord. If it turns out to be the preload, how do i adjust it?

Preload on the typ1/2/2.5 should be adjusted by...
-measure the length of the spring when it is free and uncompressed (you must move the two locking perches down enough so it is free first)
-subtract 5mm from its length and compress it to the new length(if the spring is 20cm when free then make it 19.5cm)
-tighten the perch on the spring until you have achieved the new length
-tighten both perches against each other to secure the spring and maintain the current position.

^this is kind of hard to do while they are installed on the car but still doable.

What does adjusting the preload do? Is that some type of way to adjust the stiff or softness?
