fog light harness issue

So the harness that comes with the 01-03 civic fogs from ebay is crap. one didnt work at all & the 2nd basically had to be custom fitted. Is there an oem one ? i cant find out on any of these wholesale honda sites. Secondly is there a possibility i can use the relay harness to wire this up since im runnin hids down there.

The universal harness from Ebay is probably not going to be adequate for use with HID lights. With 70 watts of lighting, the fog lights will draw a nominal 6 amps at 12 volts, so you probably need a ten amp fuse and ten gauge wire, and I would use a relay with at least a 20 amp rating in order to avoid overloading or burning the relay.

well i have a relay harness just because im running HID its 14 gauge wire, it has a 12 amp fuse i think that holds up to about 30 or 32 amps so i think that relay harness will do the job. i have the same one installed on my headlites.

my problem is is that Ebay harness gonna work rite and i already have the oem fog lite switch installed i dont know if thats gonna work .

i trashed my harness, switch and relay cause it was all crap. i wired the fogs straight to the parking lights so they come on and off with them. i wrote a diy on it if youre interested

yea that ebay harness stuff i agree a 100% is crap this is the second time ive had to take it off. im tryna avoid wiring it to my parking lites i had it wired independently so i turned im off n on when i want to. the only that actually works is the freakin switch cuz its oem i picked it up from tasuto.com

Okay, I have HIDs installed in my ebay civic fog lights. All I did was change the relay to a denso and used a 10amp fuse for the power wire. Works fine....If anybody wants one, I have an extra denso relay for sale. 5$

thanks for the advice guys, i just ordered an oem harness and i'll pick up that hid relay harness next weekend, hopefully this works
