0102 v6 coupe.

What are the experiences and feedback on the Ebay "OEM style" foglights? Like fitment, bulb life, wiring harness, ease/difficulty of installation, how they look vs OEM look, etc.

Im a real big fan of true OEM parts but, as everyone knows, the "OEM style" lights are cheaper. Is this truly a case of "You get what you pay for"..?

I dont mind shelling out the dough for true OEM but if these are just as good, then it'll save me some money.

Foglights are one area I would spend the money for OEM. The installation and fitment can be executed the way it's suppose to, eliminating guesswork and giving a clean look at the end. I'm a big fan of parts "looking like they are suppose to be there", but that's not to say you can't make the OE style look good. So many people have the Civic fogs on their sedans, etc.

Im the same way. The civic fogs on the sedans are easier to "fake" but on the coupes, I dont like having to make them fit. I wanna be able to follow factory install guides to the last detail or as much as possible.

I'll probably end up buying the OEM ones, just as I mentioned, if they fit the same, lasted just as long or were basically the same quality, I would get the "OEM style", but I had a feeling they're not.

Yeah. People always complain about OEM prices, but they don't realize there truly is a reason behind it. Between the installation, brackets, any cutting, etc...you'll be happier with OEM.

I definitely don't mind paying for OEM parts. You know how it is though, if i can save a few bucks, I will, lol. I'm looking at the 15 page install guide now and although installing them may be "easy", I'm also a fan of quality install work, lol. Plus I've got friends in the right places so I can get it done for cheap. :D

I find that even for OEM fogs, the glass is very thin and can very easily get broken by stones while driving on the highway. That was one reason I went with OEM style. If my OEM style fog lens breaks, then I will not be as pissed.

With that said, I went 1 step further and removed the fog bezel and put in a piece of lexan in front of the lens. Then I put some black silicone to seal the bezel against the fog light body (Since it will not snap in anymore) But now I can feel assured that these will not break (unless a grapefruit sized stone hit it). :driving:

As for light output, I am sure OEM is better (cause my fog output kinda sucks).

Even though I have the sedan, I'm sure they're the same thing. I have OEM Style from eBay and it sucked. When you get the package, no directions on what to do. Doesn't tell you what to cut or how to cut it. They provide you with a bag of screws, but the screws don't even screw into anything. The brackets aren't provided like the OEM one has. So my cousin and I had to ghetto rig it with zip ties. Lastly, it doesn't even sit that flush against the bumper. The edges kind of stick out. I went with $50 cheap ones over $300 OEM ones. Even though I saved hella money, I regret not getting OEM ones. Should have done it right the first time.

Yeah.

Blackcord, I heard about people doing that. I dont want them getting broken either but, again, Im not a fan of "rigging" anything, even if it means protecting them. Im sure there are other ways around that.

I'm currently looking for fogs and I'm trying to pick ebay or OEM. seeing people have had some problems with ebay kinda worries me but the hefty price tag on OEM is a downer. what seems to be a common factor is both lenses are very thin and pron to crake, so i can't decide weather or not which to go with :boohoo:
