Noob help plz. I don't understand how to adjust the height on these. It seems the red collars do the adjusting, but what does the gold collar and the spinning of the lower red part do?

read the note card that came with it closely

you adjust height from the bottom mount and lock it in with the gold collar
the red collars are for the preload adjustments DONT MESS WITH THOSE

As far as i know, there is never a reason to touch the two red locking collars.

They adjust the spring pre-load...which also voids your warranty

Will have to get measurments up later when I have a break from working my 2 jobs and schoolin it up and the sun is still out
