Along with this wikipedia excerpt, the Geely can be found to mimic the:

What is up with this and what are opinions on this? I think it's a devious way to steal designs, change one thing, and market it as quality. We know that the Chinese market has been good at doing that for the past 30+ years.. :wtf1::ugh2:

Instead of Reebok's they make Reecocks. Instead of CAT boots, they make GAT boots.

Discuss..

Just like every other knock off P.O.S. they send over here, the people who care will know better than to own one. I'm all for cheap manufacturing, but the Chinese tend to put quality control as a low priority, and it shows. As far as them ripping off the styling? Well, I've never once thought a Chrysler 300 was a Bentley.

Is it wrong? Yeah I suppose considering other people have put in the time designing the original product only to have someone copy it. That would be upsetting. However, you have to give Geely some credit for being extremely ballsy in copying these designs. It allows consumers to have the looks of an uuper class vehicle without having to pay top dollar.

In that sense wouldn't it be cheezy for people to put bentley grills on their chrysler 300's?

They just transposed the position of one light/lens color.. Even angles are same.

Bentley grills on Chryslers are :rice: just like these cars. White rice, with empty carbohydrate value.

yo i mean you guys have your opinions and stuff but china is one of the worlds major exporter and importers. I mean other car manufacturers do it, and most of the chinese companies havent been around for very long, so yes they will lack the quality of more established companies, and yes the designs are borrowed, simply for the fact that they sell. You have to realize the money it takes to design a car from the ground up. For example Hyundai, when they first came out in the U.S.. wow what POS's, but look how they matured, in their quality and design. They even back up their cars with 100,000 mile warranties. And sh*t..chrysler 300's are bootleg Phantoms. I'm chinese, I read the newspaper and I see these cars, and I do shake my head a little in dismay, but the cars will get better in design and quality as time goes on. Everyone's just picking on China because we make just about everything. I mean the cars arent in America so why is it even important.

P.S sry for long post

Speaking of hyundai, they used mitsubishi motors when they first started, 4g63 non turbo to be exact, and they even used the 4g64 in the sonata's in the late 90's. This doesn't make them a rip off does it? Some manufacturers have to start somewhere. Whether it be with ****ty design and quality, or copying design from another manufacturer. Once they have their name in the public they can start bringing in their own design. This is their strategy to get sales, and I bet it works.
