Hello everyone!
I am new to both here and Accords, or any car for that matter. I just purchased my first ever car 7 days ago, my 02 6th Gen Accord Ex Coupe. Up until now I have only owned trucks, lifted Ford Ranger then a lifted 70' C-10 and lastly a 95' Z-71 lifted as well. The only car I have driven until now really is a 98' Olds 88 that I borrowed while looking for a new car.
My accord is the one with the 4cyl and automatic, the trans was just completely overhauled the day before I bought it, and the warranty was transfered over to me so that's good!
Since I bought it Christmas Eve I have put 2k miles on it. I took it from an hour south of Atlanta,Ga (where I live) all the way up to Lake Erie in Northern Ohio visiting family. I am loving this little car! It has been great, and being able to go 450 miles on one tank of gas is amazing to me, it has been averaging 31.2mpg so far. which is great considering up till now breaking 15mpg was a huge feat!
So far all I have done is just basic maintance, went ahead and put the NGK Iridium plugs in and changed the oil/filter and air filter. I did take the bumper off and took the headlights and cleaned them up and made them crystal clear like new. This car seems like its going to be easy to work on, which id great since I do all my own maintence. An older lady had owned this since it was new, never been wrecked, and she took it to the dealership for EVERYTHING it had all the records online, when the manual said something was due, it was done. So thats good. Right now it has a hair under 142K miles on it.
My plans for Royal are still open right now. It will get tint this week, trying to decide on blacking out the brake lights. I will replace the head lights with projectors very soon. Over time I will replace the wheels probably with some Enkei EV5's and some nice tires, might take the sunroof visor off, get some fog lights for the front grill, a flat "drag style" spoiler, over time I will go ALL Out on it but that will be a year or so down the road coil overs, manual swap over. The interior in this is dang near perfect, it has the tan interior, leather, power everything etc.
Here are some pics of Royal. (My name for the car) She IS DIRTY in these pictures, this picture is after ~1500 miles of rain and salt roads up north and climbing Rarity Mountain in Tennesse. The headlights are crystal clear but all the salt from the roads made them look very hazy in this picture. This is on top of the mountain. At first when we saw the trails leading up the STEEP incline full of huge ruts from 4wd trucks I didn't know if it would make it up it, but it did with some VERY CAREFULL driving...lol
I am glad to be here!
