Getting a black one and painting it would have been the easier/cheaper thing to do, yes. haha but I did get the clock for $8 and the bezel for $16 so I don't have a lot in it. Don't plan on spending too much for the cc unit.

I'm also doing it because I think the 01-02 looks a little cleaner and more modern. And I think the silver will update my interior nicely, since it will match the Type-S bezel around my shifter. So I'll have a combination of woodgrain, black, and silver. Guess I'm ready for something different.

That's how they are though and we all know it, lol. The window switches are relatively interchangeable, why aren't the CC's? :lawl:

I will agree that the 0102 looks newer and more up to date. I just don't think you're gonna have fun with this. I'm not saying it won't work or that you might not blaze a trail but me and dill went through this. That's why we didn't follow through.

I don't recall exactly. I think it bad something to do with either fitment or the fact that they weren't plug and play. I don't like hacking harnesses and what not. If it's not gonna zwap right in then I'm not gonna worry about it.

Year is the difference, it's another one of the things that changed between 98-00 and 01-02.

98-00 auto cc unit:

I got the last piece of the puzzle in the mail last night. So I now have the 01-02 silver bezel, clock/hazard, and climate control unit. I plan on swapping it tonight, and verifying once and for all if a 98-00 auto cc to 01-02 auto cc swap is possible.

The plugs on the back look the same to me. But if I remember correctly I won’t be able to just swap over my LED’s, and I need to look up how to take out the filter behind the buttons like I did on my current setup so I had pure white.

Anyway, update to come.

I was thinking about getting a black or silver bezel for mine too . If I do find one off another 98-00 then I may have my wood grain bezel for sale :deal:

Btw, there was no intention of copying you with the wood grain, black and silver, Chris ..
Guess it is 'Honda sense' :lawl:

SUCCESS. So now the shifter and HVAC bezels are silver, & the console and window switch bezels are woodgrain. I like the combination. :)

So, we knew the manual CC units were a straight swap between 98-00 and 01-02, now we know the auto CC units are as well. All my LED bulbs, etc transferred over, and I was able to make the rear defrost button light up red instead of orange just as on the 98-00. Only thing is the 98-00 hazard button sticks out a little further, but I can live with it. Also, the silver on the HVAC bezel is a little darker than the shifter bezel.

Pics - excuse the dirty interior.

Looks well done & fresh. Just curious, but are you having any squeaks between the bezel and c.c. unit / inside the unit after all? (i.e. when pushing buttons / driving over a bump.) If you do, I can tell you how to make them disappear. (kindda time-consuming work, but..)
