Sounds like the only piece that isn't interchangeable is the hazard switch? If I'm understanding correctly you can switch the bezels and clocks, keep the hazard switch that came with the car originally and put it into the new clock. Only hangup is the hazard switch doesn't fit perfectly, but if it still goes in and works....why not do this?

I found a silver bezel an an 01 coupe today at a junkyard, I almost grabbed it but didn't know for sure if the plugs were the same on the back. Sounds like they are?

The plugs for the HVAC are the sam as far as manual climate control goes. im not sure on auto. but what you said was right. you can switch them you just have to use the hazard switch your car came with. Although putting a 01-02 hazard in a 98 bezel might not work. i do know you can rewire them. by getting a pigtail . the colors are the same but the pinouts are different

yes. 98-00 and 01-02 hazard switches are different. as well as the clocks and dash bezel's. the woodgrain bezel youve put in is a 98-00. your hazard switch controls your turn signals as well, so yeah, if you have a 01 or 02 accord, youll need a 01-02 hazard switch if you want working turn signals haha. the 01-02 hazard switch only works with the 01-02 clocks, which also only works with the 01-02 dash bezel's, haha.
This pretty says it. Granted, the below posts and links provide a way to make this work, it goes back to "too much work for such a small outcome". Not to mention, in my book, this classifies as a major "rigging" job, of which I'm not a fan.

Same links?

The units are direct swap or no? Call me crazy but I find that hard to believe. And how much "tweaking" does the hazard switch need?

I'd have to spend some time looking at a 98-00 setup to see if I'd like the way it looks, lol. I'm used to the look of my 01 setup. I might not like the look of the 98-00.

Yeah, I'm THAT picky. :coffee:

Two links for two separate pages of the same thread.

The entire bezel, clock, and HVAC is direct swap between 98-00 and 01-02 from what I’ve heard. If you have an 01-02, and if you don’t want to have to do any wiring mumbojumbo, the only 01-02 component you keep is the hazard switch. A guy posted a pic of a 98-00 hazard button in an 01-02 clock on one of those pages I linked you to. Yeah it looks maybe slightly out of place, but I could live with it myself. If you want to swap the hazard switch too, then you need a pigtail or something, not sure what’s all involved with that.

So in my case, I’m gonna swap to the 01-02 bezel, clock, and HVAC components, but use my 98-00 hazard switch. And of course, the double din fits in either bezel.

Make sense?

Yeah. Dammit, lol. That's what me and Dillingham were trying to figure out. We thought it'd be too difficult so we called it off. Now that I know they're interchangeable, we could've kept the deal. Oh well.

So I bought an 01-02 bezel, and 01-02 clock (which I need to use my 98-00 hazard switch with), and might buy the 01-02 HVAC unit from BoyWonder.

Now, he said that the wiring harness between 98-00 and 01-02 is different, meaning that the 01-02 HVAC unit is not plug n play with my 98-00 harness. Is this true? Are the plugs themselves different, or might it be a matter of repinning?

There is for auto CC btw, not manual.

Not sure about thw auto. I know for a fact its the same for the manual. I'll check the wire diagram on my comp and check

*edit. theres one diagram for the ac controls. so the wireing is the same for both 98-00 and 01-02
