Is this an accurate assumption?

My car was a beast when I first bought it... I thought a valve lash adjustment would help out a wimpy muffler putt with no avail. I factory spec'd all valves. What resulted was a slower, unbeast like 4 cyl. 2002 Honda Accord coupe 5 SPD. One note I took was how loose the intake valves were, and how tight the exhaust valves were before any adjustments were made initially. The car has a massive cold air intake with a " who the****knows cat back exhaust. My question would be...Do intake and exhaust upgrades require a different valve lash? And if so which way should I go +/- with the lash.
If the big cold air intake performed well with a loose intake valve setting given the intake has mandrel bends, should I readjust the exhaust valve lash according to its non mandrel bent tubing? Do these things correlate at all when performing valve lash to spec, on a non factory intake/ exhaust system? Please I need Asian answers. Thanks a lot in advance guys and gals

How bout I give you a mother Russian answer:

None of these things have anything to do with valve lash. As long as your valves are properly adjusted you should be all set. If you have any type of "putting" or power loss, think misfire - could be something in the ignition system, or think timing - either electronic (distributor), or mechanical (cam/crank).

The size of your cold air thing really doesn't matter either.

AzN answer = it'sJdMy0. Take those valves and tighten them down all the way until you strip the screws, this will keep them from ever unscrewing, make sure you put on some mad permanent loktyte on them, and this will also help keep that tyte compressionz even when the valves are open and the pistons bust right into them - mad compressionz right? And then watch the fireworks AzN style!

ive heard rumors that honda engines are de-tuned or dummy tuned from the factory, for efficiency and gas mileage with some performance, and that having a professional adjust the valves and such could squeeze out maybe 3-8hp, i could be wrong that's just what ive heard. If that's true then maybe someone previous adjusted them perfectly and you just put them back to sub par stock setup, idk just an idea, im not an asian so i guess my opinions arent useful :lawl:
