Alright, I've been trying out some new relatively minor things lately. Some of you have asked what the polarizing film looks like un-lit, and some just want to see what it looks like. I'm in the process of tinkering around with an LED complete conversion, so I haven't posted pictures, but I think its about time. Here is what the polarizing film looks like in my car now:
Un-lit clock:
lit clock:
Lit odometer (Yes, there's a major hot spot, and no, at this moment in time I couldn't care less):
And when I used the flash the first time, it made my odometer look like it had no led in it whatsoever... weird... Anyway, this is what it looks like minus the blue and with polarizing film:
If anyone is interested, I've also got my center dash just about completely LED converted, as well as my cruise control button. I just need to get a red or orange led to light the defroster light, and I need to decide what I'm doing about my thermostat, because I don't want it all blue. I might try a white led there, but I haven't decided yet. Next is going to be the rest of my dash, and add a few other touches here and there in my own style. One thing I'm doing is I'm converting ALL the bulbs, rather than soldering directly to the board or any other way. I'm cheap that way. That's why this process has taken me a week so far. Who knew the dash bulbs would be so hard to figure out how to modify? My odometer light was my first try, and now that I have that done, I'm going to move on to the rest shortly. Maybe I'll post some pictures when I get to the rest of them, but I don't know.
Other modifications since I made this thread include a CAI. Go me! I'm finally making some changes. I'm so proud of me...
