Re: LED Bubl Size

Here's how it turned out. Notice the difference between the ac display and the radio/clock. It's not that blue, but more of a bright white.

Re: LED Bubl Size

Looks good.

...I gave up on my clock. :lawl: I fried something on the circuit playing around with different ways to wire up the leds, and in the process, i managed to get it to be 90% of a pure white color, it just looked weird. And then I realized that if i successfully did the clock, i'd want to do my odometer to match it, and honestly i don't feel like doing that ****. Had to buy another clock off of Nikita and swap parts, but it's all good and i fixed it. You learn from your mistakes, i guess. :lawl:
I like the way the normal color of the lcd screens contrast with the white anyways.

...bought some more resistors today, gonna do the cruise control tomorrow. :)

The 3mm LEDs I got from superbright wont fit my clock or the hazard swtch. Maybe not even the CC and sunroog switches. Anyone knows whats up with that? Do those have to be soldered? God, I hope not...

They will need to be soldered... If you want them to be a direct fit you will need the LEDs in a neowedge base. That's what I think it's called. Soldering isn't that bad. I suggest that you learn it now. It's not that difficult, just practice and you will improve. It's a very good skill to have. I don't get why so many people are afraid to solder

If you just got the 3mm leds, you're going to need a 470ohm 1/2W resistor soldered in series with it. An led by itself can't handle the 12 volts. If you want to see what I mean, go into a dark room, and touch the leads of the led to a 9V battery, and watch it flash then die. lol

^Try the tin foil placement first, then if that doesn't work...might need an LED with the resistor. I have been looking for an LED with a resistor already on it, but not sure that exists. Think I said that somewhere earlier in this thread lol.

Btw the 3mm LED's that have the diffuser around them is better for the clock and climate display. At least that was the case for me.

Thanks Bax. Thats all I have left to do, lol. Looking forward to that...

PITA removing or getting the bulbs in? Cuz I noticed i had to to some filing/adjusting to get the 4mm and 5mm leds into the ac piece.

Of everything Ive done so far, the ac disaply looks the best. Its white, and bright and looks OEM. Clock, Hazard button and shift select have given me problems. Shift selct lights up, but its not as bright as the old halogem bulb.

I'll look into that foil trick for the clock, but when i put a bulb in there, it doesnt light up AT ALL, so IDK if foil will help.
