Cut it off past the before hole and throw the filter back on if you dont wanna pay to have the hole filled in.

Other option - cut out that section and use a silicone adapter to attach the two halves.

What should I use to cut the pipe so it comes out decent?

i used a hacksaw to cut my cai into a sri, haha. just make sure you clean out all the metal shavings from the pipe you use.

Yea, hacksaw works fine. Just use a file to clean up the edges when you're done.
