You should be fine unless it was changed more than 50k or so ago.

If its red ur still okay, but if u have no idea what service it had before, then its a good idea to start now and keep track. Do a drain and fill every 20k

i was told every time i change it should be a 9 quart job...drain fill 3 times. is this correct?

You can only drain 3qrts at a time so yes, you can have someone turn theccar on while u let one of the tranny lines going to the rad bleed in a bucket while u feed the transmission fluid. Do it until u see the fluid in the bucket go from dirt brown to red then stop.

Since ur fluid is still clean, just do a drain and fill '3qrts' every 20k or so. Transmission fluid lasts quiet a long time, some newer transmission never require a change now.

i know that. what i was told to do, is to do that 3 times. so your getting the cleanest fluid...since your not totally emptying the whole tranny when draining it the first time.

Yeah well thats if ur fluid is really dirty from never being changed. If urs is already red, draining and fill 3qrts every 20k will keep the fluid red.
