Re: Lucius' 99 Coupe

I say sell the civic and use that money for the accord

I considered that. If i could get 6-800 that would almost get me that set of F2 coilovers i want lol. But the civic has more potential to be "Faster" I was going to use it for Autocross and HPDEs. It's already swapped, I gutted it out, planned on getting a roll cage. I just don't know if i feel like rebuilding the engine and fixing the tranny. I have an engine hoist in my garage though so it probably wouldn't be to dificult for me to tear it apart. I also don't have a trailer and I would have to find someone to inspect it if I wanted to drive it to events.

I'm planning on going back to school though and i'll probably be moving. I doubt I'll have time, money and space for a track only car. That's why i picked up something as close as I could find to stock. I'm leaning towards sell it and use the money for the Accord.

Small update, I found the source of my rattle and I need a new cat : ( Also need a new wheel stud. Does anyone know if that requires having the wheel bearings/hubs pressed out?

No all u do is remove/ move your caliper system and beat the stud out with a hammer and press new one in using the stacked washer and socket wrench method . Trust me I've done it 1000000 times..

Civic sounds a lot more promising. If you've got five lug u only need technically to run 4

Don't need to grind them down or anything to make them fit between the Knuckle and Hub? I know on civics it would never fit unless you modified the Knuckle and then ground down one side of the stud. It's only 4 lug I managed to get Nut on the bolt it's just not super tight and it'll be a PITA to keep trying to work around.

As a track car the civic is definitely more promising. I don't really have intentions of going fast in the Accord. The problem with the civic is that:
1. It fills up with water when it rains due to a small hole in the rear wheel well and i can't do body work. This wouldn't be a big deal to me now that im not going to daily it though.
2. The Previous owner hacked the Cabin harness right at the ECU when they did the B-swap. It runs but if I run in to electrical problems it's impossible to troubleshoot because its a rats nest of wires and some of the connections are pretty ghetto.
3. Engine could probably use a rebuild, and the tranny needs a clutch at the very least if not a total rebuild.

It was just to uncomfortable as a street car. Loud, Hot in the summer, Freezing in the winter, Windows fogged like crazy in the rain, probably not that safe, and the ladies hated riding in it lol.
It was fun to drive though and I'd love to make it a track car. I just don't think it'll work out with me being back in school.

Get OEM or OE spec 4lug studs and you'll be fine. My ecu is the same way in the accord.

Re: Lucius' 99 Coupe

accord has a swap ? it was converted to obd1 ?

Not swapped but was converted to OBD1 for some reason. I don't know if the previous owner planned on tuning it or what. It's pretty pointless without other modifications.
