^Thanks Johnson. I've heard of a few members working with these kits to make them fit on 01-02 coupes. I'm sure since you did your Type-R lip you could manage doing this if you found one.

I loooove the rear OEM lip... Only thing, the polyurethane stuff is BS. Mine and LilCharlie's both snapped like twigs... long story short, don't hit anything with it.. they don't bend they snap! :p

wheres my invite?

Oops my bad! lol PM'd.

they dont make the lip kit for 02 coupes?
...

Nope. 98-00 only, though as I and AllGOnoSHOW said they can be modded to fit 01-02's. But the rocker panels on 01-02's are different than those on a 98-00 and look more like sideskirts from the factory imo.

Yeah I remember you saying that back when I was about to buy the FRP Ultraflex kit. I was actually talking with the guy who's painting my kit and I asked him if there was anything he had done in the past with lips to make them more durable. Like some sort of foam backing or coating, but he was saying that if the walls of the lip itself are too thick it will have a more difficult time bending under pressure and might be more likely to crack.

I've determined that when it comes to the everyday driving, where there is small debris and wear and tear, the polyurethane will hold up. But since it is bolted to the bumper, every 6-8 inches to be exact...if you get hit by another vehicle that thing is going to break because the flexing of the bumper will make the lip pull on the holes around the bolts and there's no where for it to go. Just my own thoughts.

Great now I'm paranoid!

Take a piece of sheet metal and run it along the botom side of the lip. One way to make it stronger and still allowing for bends. Trust me it works.

Another way that would still allow the lip to have play would be to apoxy the back. It works too. It still bends but it makes the bends of the front lip stronger.
