Optima Red or Yellow Top?

For ~900rms, you should be fine with a large battery, but I would highly recommend a deep cycle battery (read optima). A yellow top is overkill IMO, because a red top will do the job just fine as your primary starting battery. It's a lot more than just a 'better' stock battery. It holds more voltage more steadily, and for longer.

I suggest you buy a red top optima and upgrade your power cables. Run either 0/2 gauge or 0/1 gauge to a distribution block in the trunk, then 0/4 gauge to each amp.

I'm confused....i was always told the red top batteries were more powerful and yellow is geared more towards prolonged use....

All I can say is my buddy has had a yellow top with 2 12" subs for 8 years and the battery is still going strong!

wouldnt having a cap just incase on each amp help the battery and altenator out more? i have 1farad cap on each of my amps, stock battery, i guess i mainly got them so i dont get the dimming lights.

I use to have a silver star battery it died before I got my system but HOnestly I have a everday walmart battery that work fine with my 1000 wat kenwood pushing 2 12s It RUns without dying on highoutput for a long time and it has never died on me.

you're only pushing around 500 rms dude. lol of course a stock replacement would be ok. Im pushing around 800 rms right now and like to play my music loud.
