I stopped by a wheel repair shot in PA yesterday for an estimate on fixing my set of original 5Zigen FN01R-C wheels. For those who don't know, these wheels have been discontinued for some time now as there is a new "Hot" version out there in its place. Only a handful of sites still list them so I'll have to start making phone calls this week.
The shop gave me an estimate of $250 to repair my worst looking wheel. This puts a maximum cost of $1k as the other wheels are in better condition. The shop is confident that they can do the repairs and it looks like I can get a set of replica stickers for only $25 on eBay.
Does it seem illogical to spend around $1k on repairing a set of wheels when I paid less than $800 for the set brand new 6 years ago? Everyone around me thinks that I'm crazy.
