Yeah, that's what I had to tell somebody recently. I brought my van to the Toyo dealer for an oil change a few months ago. I get back a 3 page report showing everything they "checked" at no extra cost. In the brake section it showed exact measurements in mm of the front and rear pad pads. I usually check the lugs with a torque wrench after bringing it to a shop (if the wheels were removed).
I called the advisor back and asked if they had removed the wheels - "Nah, why would we do that for an oil change?" When I asked how he got the pad measurements he told me he'd have to call back. A few mins later he called back and told me they measure the front and rear pads by looking through the alloys.
When I told him I had steelies all around and drums on the back he again said he'd have to call back. His manager called and said, "Well, we have a lot of people here and I can't keep track of all of them. I tell you what, bring your van in and we'll inspect it at no cost."
