So I found out the hard way that painting a polyu lip is not as easy as it looks. I went with this guy's suggestion http://www.fastwrx.com/fivstfrlip.html and I wanted to do a DIY job and bought a can of Black Krylon for Plastic. http://www.krylon.com/products/fusion_for_plastic/ It says that it is for plastic and does not require any sanding or primer. But I still scuffed it with 800 grit sandpaper anyway and cleaned it up with rubbing alcohol. Thinking that since it is made for plastic parts then it should be ok with some mild flexing. Big mistake! It cracked so easy and was flaking off like a b!tch.
So I have been looking at that Plastidip thread here with interest. http://www.6thgenaccord.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41357 and now I am thinking about using some flat black plastidip with the clear glossifier to give it a shine. I am hoping that something like this should last 3 - 4 years and I can peal it off and redo is necessary.
Anyone got any other ideas or opinions? Thanks.
