There is no quota to fill, how bout stopping potentially fatal accidents from reckless assholes. Police do their job to protect the community.

If you dont like the presence of police go live in a third world country. After my ride along, i have a lot of respect for law enforcement.

+1.

I don't believe in quota, because some months, you see a lot of them at the end of the month and some months, you don't see any at the end of the month.

how about not breaking the law, i know that sounds irrational but it really prevents you from having to spend your money on unnecessary things, like tickets and defensive driving.

from being on the other side of the window from people *****ing and moaning about paying tickets for doing stupid ****, or being reckless or careless, its really hard to give be sympathetic, you know the law you know the area has sketchy speed changes, drive to avoid the ticket don't drive like you're hoping not to get a ticket

how abt racial profiling huh? :coffee: popos tend to just follow modified car (and most likely pulling them over) just becos the driver is of a certain race :coffee: i've lived in a 3rd world country and i can say that the police force here is given too much power to do anything they want... 90% of those guys think they ARE the law.... firemen on the other hand gets my respect :usa:

i honestly believe that officers have better things to do than to racially profile. now vehicular profiling is a different story, but once again, if you're not doing anything illegal they can't pull you over, unless you live in AZ. I've been followed dozens of times in my life and never once been pulled over illegally. in most 3rd world countries the police operate with little to no power and get most of their income through corruption. in the US police officers are out to ENFORCE the law, thats their job. if firemen went to your house and gave you tickets for illegal or dangerous conditions in or around your home i'm sure you'd lump them in police officers. Both duties put their lives on the line for public safety, you're just choosing to dislike the one who's job entails the direct enforcement of the laws passed by local, state and federal governments.

There are bad apples in all branches of law enforcement. Generally, these people go through a lot to protect the community, I was considering law enforcement after the service. I went on a few ride along at night, let me tell yah...the freaks do come out at night.

BTW, those crown vics haul azz on the freeways.

here's how i perceive the dangers for both professions:

police - assumes everything and everyone is evil. They do anything they don't like and they act like they are above the law and can do anything they want. Also, i hate the code of silence crap they have going on where policemen don't arrest other policemen... BS imo... also, they have quotas to fill in order to get their fancy toys

firemen - the danger is real in their job. Nothing is an assumption. Also, they have no code of silence.

in conclusion, firemen > super midgets > policemen

This coming from "6GA" staff is appalling to me...

honestly your perception of cops is that of a juvenile delinquent

how do the cops assume everyone and everything is evil? like we don't like in a totalitarian/fascist country

"You do anything they don't like" - like what break the law? There is bad apples in all walks of life, so why don't you generalize all religions and races as well while you're at it.

I guess the danger of getting hit by a car on the side of the road when they pull someone over, getting shot, stabbed ETC. is all a FAKE threat.
Raid a drug dealer's house for me and tell me how there wasn't any real "THREAT" to it.

I've had a coked out guy on my driveway holding a machete and sitting between our cars at 4am one night. Cops came in no-time. Please tell me who you'd call - your boys?

Grow up.
