Hi not sure if this is the right place for this question but can I jack using the green circled spot in this pic? Or do I have to use the hook? How about the spot the red arrow is point to? I figure the inner I go, the more clearance I might get,

thanks!
Oh and sorry for the other double post.

I am not sure about those spots they don't look stable to me. When I jacked up my back end, I did it one at a time. Sure your car will look crazy at that initial moment and make you feel uneasy but no worries. Just curious what are you working on?

Im going to do brakes next week. Rotors and pads and the front as well.

Okay Let me get more pics because I have never jacked the rear. I have heard that the hook was fine but maybe Im wrong.

neither..use your rear subframe brace.

Do you mean this:

If so, I haven't tried it yet but that rusty exhaust looks like it might be in the way. BTW The joint between that exhaust and my muffler is MIGHTY RUSTED! Looks like a RUST cancer. YUCK!

See for yourself:

Whoa, looks like a baaaadddd STD!

Well, just get a jackstand or two, two preferably. Jack the car up on the designated jack points towards the rear, on either side of the car. It's like a jack 'fin' that comes down. Use that. Do it from both sides, or one at a time to do your work... Hence if you have 2 jackstands, u can lift both sides at once. You can use the jack itself to hold one of the sides up, but this is HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED AND CONSIDERED UNSAFE.

no the brace further back, that connects to your lower control arm rods and such..its right before the gas tank-so it makes it a easy area to mess up/slip.ha

Why did you make two threads for this?

http://www.6thgenaccord.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38016

in the same subforum?

Also the green circle would be a fine place to jack up the car if you don't like the current shape of your trunk. Use the jacking points on the sides, one at a time. Jacking up the entire end of the car isn't necessary for doing brakes either.

It was a mistake double post. my bad.

I was thinking doing one corner at a time but I figured it would be easier to jack once and slip the stands underneath. this way i can compare one side to the other just in case i get lost putting things back hehe
