Some advice... since the rotors were already out, you should have turned them at a shop. It's very inexpensive and well worth it. 80 grit sandpaper is way too rough on the surface of the rotors, you scratched the hell out of them! The wire brush is best. The paint should be high tremp paint as well, if not it won't last very long. I use high temp clear too to protect my work.

You don't really need to tape the rotors to paint them. Just spray and clean the excess with laquer thinner install and drive. After braking a few times all the excess paint will be gone and you will have a nice clean line. There is also no need to bake them but you can. Overall you did a good job though.

honestly i should have waited to do this upgrade once i had quality parts, aka brand new out the box rotors. and i couldnt really take them anywhere either cause the state of washington isnt letting me drive (long story) so i had to make due what i had around the house. and as far as the paint.. its rated to be used on grills to stop rust. ive used the super cheap rattle can paint on my valve cover.. still looks like the day i did it. that high temp paint isnt all of whats its cracked up to be.

and yeah you dont have to bake em.. but it "cures" the paint.

but thanks though.

i will be upgrading to stop tech rotors in the near future along with EBC red stuff pads.
