That looks great! It’s giving me motivation to clean up my car that was recently unearthed from my garage.

It's hard to start sometimes, but it gets hard to stop, once you start going, right? :lawl:

Decided to renew the 22 year old shifter cable. The cable on the car isn't falling apart or anything right now, but the shifter jerks sometimes when it's shifting to the 4th gear. Was planning on simply getting a new factory cable, but it became discontinued and hard to come by. Then, the one made by Hybrid Racing caught my attention. Their cables seemed to be more performance and sports orientated than the stock ones. The one for the CL had many positive reviews, and the quality of the parts seemed to be exceeding the oem's, so I went on and got one for my X'mas gift lol. Found a nice deal on BF after TG day last year with Heel Toe Performance, but the parts became back-ordered by the production delay lol. I have yet to receive the cable, but it's totally okay with me, since I'm not in rush. I'll probably be getting their short shifter assembly in the future, too, so I can totally wait n take some time to put them on together at once, when the time comes.

Also, I recently discovered a funny design flaw on the interior of this model lol. The driver's seat has the quick-release reclining lever located on the side of the back cushion -- for a rear passenger to get in / out quickly. My Accord coupe's lever is a tiny little piece of hook, but this CL's is like a bear knuckle. And, this thing actually hits the rear passenger's arm rest, when reclined with the max setting lol. One day, I was taking a nap in the car, and later on, I saw a little dent on the arm rest lol. Maxed out the back seat again, and the lever met the dent perfectly lol. I wonder if it's just my CL tho, because the driver's seat floor below is somehow "crushed" by the previous owner(s) lol.

Oh, I also had a chance to remove the haze on the headlight lenses recently, too. I heard some life hack stuff with WD-40, tooth pastes, or bug sprays being effective, but I didn't try any of those lol. I simply used the car stuff by Maguire's with my electric orbiter. Sry, no pic this time, but I swear they're crystal clear now!

Thanks for checking, and I hope this year will be a good one for y'all! :peace:

Havent seen an update from you on IG, figured I'd check in. Looks like its still going well.
Hey, thanks for checking. Yea, I've been only posting stories and highlighting them these days on IG haha. This car has been very super reliable, useful, and comfortable lately, compared to 4 years ago from day one. My Accord can still run (shift lol) okay, so it's taking forever to get the swap done lol. Can't appreciate you enough for your help to get this car running strong now! Happy belated new year btw lol.

Finally received Hybrid Racing Shift Cables that I ordered in November last year lol. These were back-ordered by the manufacture, so that's why it took forever. I haven't had a chance to open up the box to take a look at them yet, but I'll probably not get them installed right away. It's because I will most likely get their short shifter as well, and throw them out all together at one point. Wow, what an update over here lol.

Vehicle Condition Remarks: (As of 08/30/2024)
-- Rear Window Film ----- Bubbled
-- Brake Fluid Reservoir Tank ----- Leaking. (Inside)
Had a chance to stop by and say hello to my local window filming shop. I was able to remove all of the side windows' previously, but I just couldn't be confident enough to remove the rear's w/o messing up the defroster, which is working perfectly fine. He told me the film has deteriorated so much that it's gonna be very flaky, and I'll most likely mess up the defroster lines, when working with the razor blade eventually. Sometimes it's a little annoying, when I can't figure out who's really behind me, but I'd prolly leave it as is. I might try it out on a smaller section to see how it goes.

I totally forgot abt the new OEM BF reservoir cap that I bought a few months ago lol. So it's on now!

Also had a chance to remove some rusts on a couple of these engine wire harness brackets that I'll be swapping them over into my Accord. My original plan was to simply replace these pieces, but this will do the job for now.

Well, just because I started to spend some time on my Accord lately, my CL started to get jealous and grabbed my attentions for a need of getting the valve lash adjustment done...

Noticed a minor ticking sound coming from the engine bay from time to time, but it really got worse after a semi-spirited drive one day recently. Popped up the hood, and the noise was very similar to the valvetrain noise I had, when it had to be adjusted 4 years ago. I hear people say that the adjustment is good for 100k miles, if driven like a grandma peacefully at all time. But I drive a little differently from time to time, so I ended up getting the adjustment done after 36K miles of running this time. My tech said that there was a slight ticking noise still being present, after the adjustment, which I can't really tell now lol. He even removed the valve covers again to double check the measurements, but they were all within the spec. He said there might be a potential issue on the valve guides. Maybe this could be checked out at the time when the engine starts to get swapped out to my Accord (one day lol.)

Tech also noticed that my clutch slave cylinder has a little fluid leak.. I got this new cylinder installed only one year go, so I wonder what's up with the issue..?

The BF has been contaminated and it's pretty much due, but I guess I'll get that done later next time, hopefully soon.

Other than that, the CL has been such a fun car to drive! :driving:

That's strange that your valves need adjusting after 36k miles....out of curiosity what oil are you using? I've been using Rotella T6 5W30 and don't notice any ticking. I'll try and pay attention to see if I notice anything.

That slave cylinder was the heeltoe with the CDV work done to it right? Try reaching out to Heeltoe and see if he'll warrranty it.

I'm using Mobil1 5W-20. No idea what the previous owners were using it though.. I was told that adjusting after 50 - 60K miles would be a sporty / aggressive driver's thing. I could have reached 40K mi. but oh well. There could be one factor, which is that I didn't change the motor oil for 8K miles last year. I kept checking the dip stick and it looked fine w/o the need of topping it off, but it might have lost its viscosity. The Mobil1 label says it can protect for 10K miles, but I'm not so sure about that...

Yea I got it from them thru ur recommendation, and I love it w/o the delay valve! Okay that's a great idea. I'll see what I can do from there.
