Re: Painting rims

Meh. Too flat/matte for gunmetal, in my opinion.

Justin's right, the gunmetal A-specs are "doing it right"

Re: Painting rims

I would have to say the A-Specs/TL-S rims would be a good colour choice.....actually, having the TL-S to go with the rims would be "winner, winner, chicken dinner!"

RedRyder your car looks sooooo clean with the silver wheels, but I know you are bored with them. Try to photoshop your wheels different colors if you can to help you decide.

Re: Painting rims

Chris, you planning on taking them to a shop to get painted?

I'd just go with a rattle can. The duplicolor gunmetal that Larry used is nice, I've used it before as well.

If you WERE in fact thinking of taking them to a shop to get professionally painted, you'd be way better of getting them powder coated gunmetal. And a shop that does poder coat will have a lot of options to choose from.

Anthracite Metallic from the TLs are nice..... NH-643M

As close to gunmetal as I could think of, for Honda/Acura

Or you could just get the paint code for the gunmetal ASPEC wheels, paint them that color and keep it all OEM.

It actually MAY be Anthracite but I would check with Acura. Carries ASPECs matched her car almost perfect, and her car is AM.

This is my updated opinion from my last post. Forget the rattle can crap. I've been rattle canning wheels for a very long time and no matter how great the final product is there is always something that gos wrong, chips, clear coat fades, etc... Stay away from rattle can. I used to have my wheels powder coated but my priorities have changed due to having a 3 year old blah blah. Sounds like you know that already though which is good.

I really think finding the OEM gunmetal would really be nice. Your car is way to clean and perfectly put together to not go OEM Honda/Acura gunmetal. Just a thought. I wish I had a red car so I could go the red and gunmetal theme - I love it.

I still worry about you getting your wheels painted even if they are professionally done. Paint is a lot less durable than powder coating.

Good luck Chris!!
