I recently acquired a set of Tein SS coilovers with the pillow ball mounts but have heard that they tend to transmit more suspension noise. I'm okay with them (the Tein's) not going as low as what some want but before I mount them I'd like some opinions of someone who has the pillow ball's and if they are that noisy. I'll be installing them tomorrow so any info will be appreciated. I guess if no one has any info I'll start with the pillow ball mounts and see what happens and swap to the oem if they are too noisy.

They will be noisier than your OEM mounts but whether it is bothersome is subjective.

Actually I got Tein SS-P (i.e. the one with the Tein Pillow mount) and I do not notice any suspension noise.

It'll be a bit of a harsher ride but I've never noticed any more suspension noise.

OP, doubt you'll have any noise that'll be unbearable. If you are really worried cut out a piece of rubber skin or cloth and place it between the mounts and the top tower mount in means of something to absorb any noise.

I went ahead and installed them and don't have any more noise than I did with the old setup that was KYB's with the OEM hats.
