^T1R’s were the first tires I bought for my first set of non-OEM wheels, and to this day they are still my favorite tire. On both dry and wet, they were on rails. They were even in a 215/50/17, and that sidewall was solid. They were amazing, I miss them. Anyway I actually have looked a little for a set.

EDIT: Here they are, way back when. haha

I dont like Falkens. They stretch nice, but the sidewalls tends to bubble up.

Probably gonna go with some Yokohama S drives on my next tire purchase.

The T1R was replaced with the T1 Sport so you probably won't find any of those anywhere. Yokohama S.Drives run a little fat. I am planning on getting some S.Drives though as they're one of the only directional, symmetrical, 245/35/18 options that has reinforced sidewalls.

My buddy has them on some 17x7 and loves them. He is running 225-45/17 though.

They aren't much more than Falken 512 but I like how chunkier they look.

So after reading a bit, Dunlop is not inspiring confidence. Their SP Sport 01’s and SP Sport 2050’s have seemingly gotten consistently bad reviews. I don’t normally put much stock in tire reviews since most people are idiots, but what I’m reading is pretty consistent, and so I can’t get it out of my head now. Sucks because I found these tires almost new, for $500 and $450, respectively.

The Falken 912’s are tempting because they run narrower (section width is 8.9”), but they are so cheap…not sure how good of a tire they are actually are for the money?

I’m also considering Continental….either ExtremeContact DWS (9”) or DW (9”). Kevin, you mentioned some Conti’s run narrower, either of these?

I own a set of Yoko’s now, Avid EnVigors…not impressed with the grip.

Speaking of bubbles, found a nice sized one on one of my hankooks, it was starting to tear the side wall. Ticking time bomb Smh. There's about 4 more bubbles starting to form on that sme tire.

Good thing I'm back on stockies

After spending a lot of time looking up tires I actually want, the narrowest tires I have found are 8.9” and the widest are 9.1”. With that being not even a quarter inch difference, I have decided not to bother with this as the difference would be very negligible. I will most likely just have to lower the car more to pull the fronts in if I need to.

So I am currently looking at getting Bridgestone RE760’s or Continental DW’s. Getting pricing today after work. Yokohama S-drives are also a possibility. All I care about at this point is good dry/wet traction, and a stiff sidewall. Though I am a sucker for cool tread patterns.
