Just a quick question. Is there such a thing as too much waxing? Had a discussion with my friend a couple days ago while waxing my car. He had asked how often i usually wax my car and i told him like every other week or so and every time i wash it (which is like 2-3 times/week) i use a detailer. He argued that waxing too much would eventually break down the paint and make it start to peel off. I mean so far i havent seen any problems yet. I just think he is jealous how the rain beads on my car......ooooooo soooooo sexxxxyyyy!!!!:jerkit: lol So what do you guys think?

hmmmmm i thought wax would actually make a layer on top of it?? so it would actually protect....?? i dont understand how it would break down the pain and make it start to peel off...unless there's some chemical rxn involves that certain chemical within the wax is actuall harmful to the clear/paint...

can someone jump in and educate us???

nope, i dont think too much wax will hurt the paint of the car, like nextome said, it is just a layer on top and it helps protect the car, it is kind of a waste to wax the car so much but it does no harm.

I hear ya.....just created a thread in the new products about it. Check it out and back me up on this one so maybe we can get all our 6thgenners on the forum to actually wax their cars once in a while once they realize how easy it was!!!! lol

ok..yes there is a such thing as too much wax. Once you start getting on the 3rd coat or so of wax you start to actually remove the bottoms layers. Even with a layerable wax. So really your wasting your time. You should only have to wax your car a few times a year. So if you "have" to wax it more than that well, get a new wax.
