Some locksmith shops do it from what I have heard, but why not go to Honda and have it made using the VIN. That way the key cut is perfect (so you can put your worn key in the bypass and use the new key) , and I don't think it is any more expensive. Call and check around if you don't want to drive to a Honda dealer..
That's what I'm saying. Some locksmiths code keys from what the guy that installed my alarm said. I was just pointing out the fact that it's nice to have a VIN cut key so it is perfect, not just a copy of the old key.
i know there are SOME places that can cut keys with immobilizers but you can't just run into the corner tool store and get it done.
I think what the mobile installers were saying is use your OEM key in the box, then use a generic key since the car would already have the signal from the key in the box. Im assuming that is what they meant? Would that work or are they trippin?
Picked up a viper 5904v alarm off craigslist today. Now ordering accessories.
I was thinking of ordering the DEI DBALL for the bypass. about 40-50 dollars online. What do you guys recommend?
I am ordering the glass sensor as an auxillary. I hope to get the windows to roll down as a feature and retain the trunk release. I dont think I will go for tilt sensors but may opt for proximity.
How much extra is it to add the AUX options? I was quoted 200-220 for install but I didnt mention extras when we talked because I did not know about them.
