i would get something reliable if its a DD, something relatively inexpensive to fix and cheap to maintain >>6G sedan w/5spd<<

you would also have a little left over with the amount you listed to do maintenance and make sure the car is in top shape.

-cargo room

-safety (self-explanatory)

-reliability

not just because your on a 6gen forum, you know

I myself had a 6th gen V6 coupe, and after mine got totaled, i searched around for another car, and couldn't find something i like that was as well balanced as a 6th gen sedan...so i got one.

/love story

Glad your ok and hope everything works out for you man.

He said "reliable"...

No, the OP said $7-8K

and prefers AWD/RWD

Thanks for your contribution though...

BTW,

You can get a good mileage Audi A4 b5 Quattro for $8K easy. I doubt there's anything really worth buying that's RWD and $7-$8K except an abused 240, maybe an older 3-series, or even a mustang if you are so inclined. If it were me though, I'd get a mk3 GTI since you can get one in pretty damn good shape for the price, and I think it's a classy pick.

All things considered, give up your awd/rwd ambitions and just buy one of the 6th gens for sale on the forum.
