Thanks Chris, so am I.

No, we just did all the brake pads, and the mechanic never mentioned anything.

Also have to replace the end links for the RSB. Not as urgent, but will probably just do it all at once.

I didn't take a pic, but the tire is facing 90 degrees to the left, it pushed the fender a bit too, so not sure about the extent of the damage of the fender.

Ugh. Not a pleasant picture.

Unfortunately I don't think the condition of the ball joint can be checked without pulling back the boot that surrounds it to actually look at it. I'm guessing the only other indicator of it's wear is a sound or vibration, but you said you experienced neither of those. Kinda scary. Yay for 10+ year old cars, lol.

Yeah, we have had a couple mechanics take a look at it, and neither mentioned that it may have been an issue.

Just talked to the mechanic, so far, as mentioned, the ball joint and drive shaft need to be replaced, the fender is bent, but he is going to try and bend it so there is no rubbing issues. Once they are able to get the car in the shop, he will let me know what else MAY be going on as well.......

This is the first major issue we have had with the car, so no real complaints. It does however, speed up the process of looking to get an MDX.

Hope it all ends up getting fixed at a wallet friendly cost derek, in addition to the most important thing that the wifey and baby were ok.
As chris mentioned though, was there no signs of the balljoint going bad? did she hit any hard potholes before-hand by any chance?
...most places i've gone too lately(including many of our vendors on TAC) don't seem to do a general inspection of balljoints/tierods/bushings/etc unless you ask them these days and/or remind them a couple of times.

@levin, thanks, appreciate that.

Chi said it will be $260 to repair(already done). I haven't seen the car yet, but the driver's side front rim he said is damaged(still useable), but the spare is on there right now. The inside lip was ground down a bit from the car sliding and then getting pulled up on to the flatbed.

Looking to get a set of winters/steelies and worry about replacing the rim in the new year.

Endlink replacement will be next($100) for both sides.

She didn't hit anything, it just broke.

Unfortunately, this all happened on a day when I was working a 12hr shift and getting double time. I only ended up working 2.5hrs. Yesterday would have been a better day for it to happen.......:lawl:
