Also, for residue removal, look for some stuff called goof off at the hardware store ... turns any adhesive to a gel that will come right off.

3M makes a adhesive remover that's apparently safe for cars, but I'm not sure you can buy it anywhere but online, and one can is $16.

I bought it at Advance auto parts like 3 weeks ago. :thumbup:
Used it when I replaced my visors with the new avs ones.

I used goof off to take off the glue from tint on a window, literally took a razor blade and pushed it to the edge of the window. :) Also removing the residue from the Accord sticker that had been taken off previously of my deck lid. 3M stuff is usually pretty good though pricey ... Carmax(where I work) actually uses their products religiously ... be glue, buffing compound, or other items. Couldn't say about a solvent, but I imagine they've done some testing with the solvent to assure it works and is safe to use. The Goof off is maybe $3 for a small tin full, and I'll swear by it.
